I always knew I wanted to be involved in renewable energy and have been involved in it since the 1990s. My mantra has always been that “it’s better to regret something you have done than something you haven’t” – so I have created my own opportunities to be exposed to new sectors and new ideas. It’s exciting. My advice to anyone would be – make yourself easy to work with and grow your transferable skills. Everyone needs people who can make connections, sees value in new ideas and articulates them. Be fearless, but be measured. Don’t let enthusiasm overrule commerciality. The future’s yours!

There’s no typical day – Board meeting days are predictable, but every other day brings something new. As a team we are breaking new ground in CCS, Wind and Offshore Renewable Hydrogen. We have to find our own path and create our own future! I work with a great team of engineers who challenge everything. I love my team and my job and absolutely love every day. The hard work has been worth it, and I know I am making a difference to the planet! It’s been a really fast 30 years so far!
