My Journey:
After a successful Year In Industry Placement as a Data Analyst with Net Zero East (Now known as Opergy Net Zero), I graduated from the University of East Anglia with 2:1 Upper Division in BSc Geology with Geography with a Year in Industry. I then started full time at Opergy Net Zero as Energy Analyst and have been with the company 1 year and 4 months (including year in industry).
Working Environment:
A typical day as an Energy Analyst at Opergy Net Zero can be very dynamic. Team meetings facilitate collaboration, problem solving, and progress reporting. I communicate regularly with clients and team members, ensuring clear and professional interactions. Mapping design and maintenance are a core focus, utilising QGIS for complex data layers and analysis. Report writing, where I blend data, research and design also feature prominently in my daily tasks.
Duties:
As an Energy Analyst at Opergy Net Zero, part of the Opergy Group, I manage the NZ E-map, utilizing QGIS to create intricate maps from over 300 data layers. I also play a key role in report design, PowerPoint presentations, and other deliverables, combining creative skills with attention to detail. My duties extend to data analysis in Excel, report research and writing, and the creation of infographics and graphical elements for various projects. I contribute effectively, striving for continuous improvement in our journey for sustainable energy solutions.
