My Journey:

I studied Geography at University, learning about how people interact with each other and the environment, and subsequent challenges and opportunities. Having seen the fragility of our planet’s environment, I wanted to work in sustainability to ‘make a difference’. I observed the extent to which energy can be taken for granted, and wanted to learn more about the industry; particularly amidst the climate protests. If it was that easy, surely we would have more solutions? I applied to Equinor’s graduate programme, and love my job here. Be curious, be yourself and have confidence!

Working Environment:

I work for Equinor, and am based in Norway. I collaborate with people across the company, both in the UK and Norway – and am frequently travelling between the two. I love working in the industry, as energy is fundamental to how we operate as a society, and it’s integral that we come up with more sustainable solutions, driving the energy transition forward. My role in human rights and social responsibility allows me to be a central part of this, helping ensure that people (employees, communities and our supply chain) are taken care of along the way.

Duties:

I support Equinor’s UK Renewables activity. Whilst my day to day duties vary considerably, I engage in our stakeholder engagement activities and leverage sustainability expertise to integrate this into our business development. Situated within Human Rights and Social Responsibility, I am focused on helping achieve a ‘just’ transition that brings no harm to people, and might even help make their lives a little better.
