Main Skills:

Project Management, Processes and Plans, Organisation, Governance, Commercial, Soft Skills (communication, support, teamwork)

My Journey:

I studied Drama & American Studies at Aberystwyth University then moved to Edinburgh to follow my dream of working in Theatre. After a number of temporary jobs I found I was suited to, and good at, Administration support roles. I have had various jobs in this area including Installer Management, Team Leader, Contract and Procurement Assistant, Legal Support Officer, with no thought of the Renewable Energy Sector as an option. Joining Vattenfall as a Project Administrator in Onshore Wind (Development and Construction) I then progressed to my current role in project management in Offshore Wind.

Working Environment:

Hybrid working. My role is flexible between my office in Hexham and my home. I have a Project Team and Line Organisation spread across Northern Europe so time can also be spent in other office locations (London, Kolding, Hamburg) but it’s mainly on TEAMS. Apart from a regular monthly cycle of specific tasks, no day is ever the same and the tasks I am asked to support with provide for a varied/cross-discipline workload which I enjoy.

Duties:

Part of, and support to, the Project Management Team. Responsible for ensuring that the project is governed and in compliance with Vattenfall’s defined governance process and standards and we use the correct tools, processes and best practice. Responsible for monthly reporting, handbooks, project reviews, coordination and integration amongst packages. Support the Project Director and lead initiatives as and when they need. Provide leadership within the project to the Administrators and Document Control.
